Returns & Cancellations
Last updated: 31 July 2026
Every book has one child’s name and one child’s face in it, so it cannot be resold to anyone. That is why personalised books do not carry the usual 14-day right to change your mind — and why we show you your book, painted, before you are asked for a penny.
Before you pay: cancel whenever you like
Nothing is owed until you have seen your child painted into the pages and said yes. If the preview does not make you smile, walk away — you pay nothing, and your photo is deleted. You do not need to tell us why, or tell us at all.
After you pay: the legal position, plainly
Under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, goods that are made to your specification or clearly personalised are exempt from the 14-day cooling-off period. Your book is both. For the ebook, regulation 37 applies as well: by approving it you ask us to supply it immediately and accept that the right to cancel ends when we send it.
So once you have paid and we have started making your book, you no longer have an automatic right to cancel and be refunded.
What we do anyway
- Changed your mind straight after paying? Email us. If we have not yet sent your ebook or sent your hardcover to the printer, we will refund you in full. We usually start within minutes, so tell us quickly.
- Something not right in the book? Tell us what is off and we will fix it free of charge — the name, the hair, the shade of a jumper, a page you do not like.
- Wrong spelling or wrong detail that you gave us? We will correct it and re-send the ebook free. If a hardcover has already been printed we will re-print it for you at our cost price rather than the full price.
If your book is faulty, damaged or never arrives
This is where your legal rights sit, and the personalisation exemption does not touch them. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 your book must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
- Damaged in the post or badly printed — send us a photograph. We will reprint and re-send it. You do not need to post the damaged one back.
- Never arrived — tell us and we will reprint and re-send, or refund you.
- Not as described — if we cannot put it right, you get a full refund.
How to ask
One email to [email protected] with your order reference. No forms, no returns portal, no hoops. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, within 14 days of us agreeing them.
Nothing here removes your statutory rights
