The three that matter most. You pay nothing until you have seen your child painted into the book. Because every book is personalised and made to order, the 14-day “change your mind” right does not apply once we start making it — which is exactly why we show you the book first. And if anything is wrong with the book, your legal rights are untouched: we will fix it, replace it or refund it.

1. Who you are buying from

Little Tailor Books is a trading name of Complete Asset Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 15541955), registered office 90 Cuckoo Avenue, London W7 1BN. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. Contact: [email protected].

2. What we sell

Personalised children’s picture books, illustrated from a photograph you supply:

Ebook — £6.99, delivered as a PDF by email.
Hardcover upgrade — £29.99 with free UK delivery. The upgrade offer comes with your finished ebook; the hardcover is printed in Britain from the same approved pages.

Prices include everything; we are not VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add. Delivery outside the UK is not offered at present.

3. How an order works

You fill in the short form: your child’s first name, she or he, an age band, one photo, your email.
We paint sample pages and email them to you, normally within 24 hours. This is free and you are not committed to anything.
If you love it, you pay. That is the moment the contract is made, and the moment we start making the rest of your book.
We finish the book, a person checks every page, and it reaches you.

A contract exists only when we confirm your paid order by email. We can decline an order — for example if the photo is unusable, if we think the person ordering is not the child’s parent or guardian, or if we cannot make the book to a standard we are happy with. If we decline after payment, you get every penny back.

4. Your photo, and the promises you make about it

By uploading a photo you confirm that you are over 18, that you are the parent or guardian of the child in it (or have their parent’s permission), and that you are entitled to give us the photo. You give us permission to use it for the single purpose of painting your book. What happens to it afterwards is set out in our Privacy & Photo Promise.

5. Timings

The free preview normally arrives within 24 hours. The finished ebook follows within about 24 hours of your approval. Hardcovers are printed to order and typically arrive well inside two weeks. These are honest estimates, not guarantees — if anything slips we will tell you, and if a delay is unreasonable you may cancel and be refunded in full.

6. Our promise on likeness

Your child is painted by hand-directed illustration, not traced, so the book is an interpretation, not a photograph. If a detail is not right — the hair, the eyes, the clothes — tell us and we will fix it free of charge. That promise is not limited to a single attempt, but it is a promise to make the book right, not an obligation to repaint it on request indefinitely.

7. Cancellations and refunds

Because every book is personalised and made to your specification, it is exempt from the usual 14-day right to cancel under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. For the ebook, you also agree to immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once we send it. None of this affects your rights if the book is faulty or not as described. 8. If something is wrong

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 everything we sell you must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund. Nothing in these terms takes that away. Tell us at [email protected] and we will sort it out.

9. Who owns what

We keep ownership of the story, the illustration style and the artwork. You get a perpetual, personal licence to your finished book and its illustrations: read it, print it for your own family, give copies to grandparents, photograph a page and post it if you want to. What the licence does not cover is commercial use — selling copies, selling merchandise, or using the artwork in a business.

Your photograph stays yours. We claim no rights over it beyond painting your book.

10. Our responsibility to you

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made.

11. Things outside our control

If something genuinely beyond our control — a supplier failure, a postal strike, an outage — delays your book, we will tell you and agree a new date, or refund you if you would rather not wait.

12. Complaints, and the law that applies

Email [email protected] and a person will answer. These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can bring proceedings in your own country’s courts.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the version that applies to your order is the one published when you paid. The date at the top tells you which that is.
